California State University System

The California State University System is a leader in high-quality, accessible, student-focused higher education. With 23 campuses, almost 433,000 students and 44,000 faculty and staff, as well as more than 2 million alumni, the CSU system is the largest, most diverse, and one of the most affordable university systems in the country. The CSU campuses offer unlimited opportunities to help students achieve their goals and also play a vital role in the growth and development of California’s communities and economy. Approximately half of the bachelors’ degrees and a third of the master’s degrees awarded each year in California are from the CSU system. Included in these figures are bachelors’ degrees awarded to teachers and education staff (87%), criminal justice workers (89%), social workers (87%), and public administrators (82%).

Although the 23 campuses are part of the CSU system and share a common online application, each campus may have differences in their admissions requirements. In addition, many CSU campuses are impacted, which means that more students are applying to certain programs than a school can accept or accommodate.
